About LaKota OneHeart
LaKota OneHeart is of Abanaki, Lakota, Mic-Mac, and French descent. As a young child, LaKotahasie communicated clearly with her Spirit Ancestors, who have guided her medicine walk throughout her life. The sacred healing ceremonies and teachings she shares arise from her connection to and guidance from Creator. She does not teach traditional Native American Ceremony, per se; she teaches from her own life experiences, sharing her visions and gifts with all who come.
LaKota OneHeart is a Reverend in the Order of Melchizedek, Sanctuary of the Beloved Blue Buffalo. She has been a Sun/Moon Dancer and Spiritual Dance Leader for Beautiful Painted Arrow (Joseph Rael). She is an intuitive Spiritual Advisor, Medicine Wheel Healer, Spiritual Dance Leader, and Artist, whose art expresses her own medicine walk. In March 2007, she received the “Living in Peace” award, for the International Ecumenical Prayer for Peace Day, from the Sanctuary of Peace on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. She has created several Turtle Island Dream Circles across the country, by sharing her gift of the Medicine of the dream, with a vision of first healing ourselves, then our communities, and then our world.
LaKota OneHeart has three Black Belt degrees: First degree Black Belts in Tang Soo Do and Sampi and a Third degree Black Belt in Kyoshin Kan Shorin Ryu with the title of Shi-Ko-Ni. She is a certified instructor in both styles. She also raises cows, horses, chickens and cats and breeds Newfoundland dogs at her rustic home on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Her life is one of service so that All the People Might Live.
